Times Square is a plaza located on the west side of New York’s Midtown, close to the Hudson River. Times Square is famous for its shopping and newsreel billboards plastered over the front of many of the buildings. But the area is also a great place to visit. In fact, there’s so much to do here you could entertain yourself for a week without walking more than 500 feet. Check out all the things you can do in Times Square.

Things You Can Do in Times Square

Go To The Museum Of Modern Art

The Museum of Modern art is one of New York’s premier galleries, competing with the likes of the Guggenheim near to Central Park. The Museum of Modern Art regularly changes the artwork on display, showcasing the paintings and creations of some of the most innovative artists in the world.

What’s so exciting about MoMA from an art lover’s perspective is that the museum isn’t afraid to showcase art produced by up-and-coming talent. If you want to find the next Rembrandt, then this is the place to be.

Go Behind The Scenes Of A Broadway Show

Times Square is at the center of New York’s theatre district, perhaps the most famous in the world. Vendors sell discount Broadway tickets to passers-by and the streets around the square light up with advertising for various shows. But you don’t have to see a show to experience Broadway – you can also go behind the scenes.

Radio City and other hosts offer tours of backstage areas and tell you about the history of particular venues. You’ll discover the famous actors who began their careers in New York’s theatre districts as well as some amusing anecdotes from the Greenroom.

Visit An Aquarium

If you want to experience what life’s like underwater, swimming alongside dolphins, great white sharks, and giant squid, then you might want to pay a visit to the National Geographic-sponsored Ocean Odyssey. Just off Times Square, the venue plunges you feet below the water and surrounds you with exotic marine life. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience and features some of the largest marine species in the world.

There’s also an above water exhibition where you can learn more about marine ecosystems and the effect that people are having on the oceans.

The NFL Experience In Times Square

If you’re a football fan, you’ll love the NFL experience in Times Square. The venue offers everything that a football lover could want (minus a real football match, of course). The site plays host to a range of games and experiences, interactive displays and a 4D cinema that takes the experience of watching a match to the next level.

If you want to measure your skills against the pros, then you can. You can hire a coach to take you through the basics of the game and learn advanced skills. And if its merch you’re after, there are plenty of stores selling all kinds of football-related clothes and accessories.

Times Square is like a city within a city, offering visitors a wealth of entertainment and activities, not to mention great food.
