Dropcam HD Wi-Fi Video Camera

May 18, 2013 by Dawn Filed Under: Reviews 2 Comments

Disclosure: I received the Dropcam for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

There are so many many reasons that one might want to have a video camera hooked up somewhere in your house. Maybe to be able to check in on a babysitter or post it at the front door so you know who’s coming up to your house. Or what about if you’ve had theft in the area and want to keep an eye on things.

I saw Dropcam and thought it’d be perfect for our family.

Dropcam

Dropcam is a high-definition Wi-Fi video camera with remote viewing and two-way sound for your home or business.

We set it up in our living room today. The kids know that it’s there so technically we’re not “spying” on them. 😉 We’ve started letting our oldest babysit and even though I’m comfortable with him babysitting, it’s nice to be able to check in and see what they’re doing.

The Dropcam also has two-way sound so that we can communicate back and forth. You can open up the live viewer on your computer or download the app and watch on your iPhone or iPad. It’s awesome!

Here’s a screenshot that I took on my iPhone:

More Info on the Dropcam

Stay secure

Bank-level security ensures your live and stored footage is safe from unwanted viewers. That’s right. No one can see your video without your permission. Your video is encrypted on your Dropcam and transmitted to your devices using SSL security.

Access footage anytime, anywhere

You’ll be amazed at some of the fun, unexpected moments that you see once you set up Dropcam and Dropcam DVR. Whether it’s watching your puppy couch surf or catching a sweet smile from your son, you’ll be glad you can see and save these moments.

Make and store clips

With Dropcam DVR service you can review your footage at a later date and make and store clips in your account. It’s easy to share them with family and friends, become a YouTube star or just keep them private.

Dropcam Live comes free with camera purchase. No monthly fees. You also have the option of the Dropcam DVR services. These options have a monthly fee but if you need the recording option, this is great!

Such a great video camera with so many uses! I know our family is going to love having this. The Dropcam definitely gives me piece of mind when I’m not at home. I know I can check in at anytime. Check out the Dropcam and see if it’s right for your home or business.

The Dropcam gets this busy moms stamp of approval!
