Paleo Chocolate Banana Smoothie

May 25, 2013 by Dawn Filed Under: Paleo 4 Comments

When you first start the Paleo lifestyle, you need some of those substitutions for the yummy things you’re used to eating but now can’t. My husband was dying for a Frappe. No, this Paleo Chocolate Banana Smoothie recipe is not at all like a frappe but this frozen treat did the trick for his craving.

I saw another recipe similar to this one. My friend tried it and didn’t like it at all. So off I went to find a tasty Paleo Smoothie recipe.

This one got my husband’s seal of approval as well as my kids! 🙂 I think you can alter it a bit to make it to your liking. Like taking out the cocoa or changing to different fruits. This is a good basic smoothie recipe that you could do a lot with.

Let me know how you like it!

  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 8 ice cubes

We’re always using almond butter in our recipes, but this shake sounds easy to make. Thanks for the recipe. I’m definitely going to make it soon.

I make a similar smoothie. I use stevia instead of honey and I usually add ground flax seed. The flax does give it texture, but it’s not bad. I’ve never thought to add cinnamon, but it sounds super yummy. I’m definetly giving it a shot!
