Online Learning with SDA Homeschool

September 23, 2014 by Dawn Filed Under: Homeschooling, Reviews Leave a Comment

Disclosure: I received the online learning service through SD Accelerate for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

We have been homeschooling for 11 years now. I’m not going to say that every moment has been easy but I am glad that we made that decision 11 years ago. It’s been amazing watching our kids learn and grow. I cherish the time that I get to spend with them.

My oldest is now a sophomore in high school. I will admit that I still freak out a bit about that. Not only that he’s old enough to be in high school but  I constantly second guess myself. I wonder, is he taking the required courses? Is he learning everything he needs to? Can I teach him what he needs to learn?

Granted requirements are different state by state but I felt slightly better after looking up requirements for our state. So now that I know what courses he needs to take, now I have to figure out what curriculum I’m using.

I love finding courses that are online. It’s awesome when the student can learn this way. Especially when it’s a subject that I’m not entirely confident in.

Standard Deviants Accelerate offers just that!

SDA homeschool

The Standard Deviants Accelerate online teaching system guides homeschool students through complete core curriculum courses. Through the clever way our instructional videos use humor to make difficult topics fun and simple, we are able to keep students attentive and engaged. A well-balanced range of assignments provides students with different outlets to demonstrate their understanding.

SDA will teach and re-teach, allowing your student to learn, progress, and then master a subject, requiring little time from parents.

Parents: We want to make life easier for you by saving you time and money. As a condensed course, SDA provides instruction covering all necessary topics in each subject through video content, so you don’t have to. Most of the assignments are automatically graded, and you have access to those scores at any time via your parent account. For assignments that are not automatically graded, parent accounts include customizable rubrics that make grading quick and easy. With one subject costing only $24.95/month or $99/year, SDA is an affordable curriculum choice.

A love of learning is something that I want to instill in my children. To make learning fun. SDA offers our kids a new, fun way to learn. Check out SDA’s homeschool section. This is not only for high school students but middle school too.

I was really pleasantly surprised when I was going through SDA. SDA guides homeschool students through complete core curriculum courses. When you subscribe to SDA, parents get their own account with access to:

Grade Reports
Red Flag Alerts
Editable ScoringRubrics
Progress Indicators

Students also get their own account and have access to:

Video lessons
Assignments
Automatic grading of quizzes and tests
A note taking feature
A print function
The ability to message a parent for help on a specific lesson

With one subject costing only $24.95/month or $99/year, SDA is definitely an affordable curriculum choice. If you’re looking for great online learning, I’d definitely recommend looking into SDA. It can be an amazing option for you and your kids.
