Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! 6 months Post Op Gastric Sleeve

May 26, 2015 by Dawn Filed Under: Weight Loss 2 Comments

NYC

I can’t believe it’s already been 6 months after my gastric sleeve procedure. It hasn’t all been easy but I do not regret my decision. I have been on yo-yo diets most of my life. Been overweight most of my life. I’ve tried it all. Surgery was my last resort and it worked. So far so good!

No I don’t regret choosing surgery but I’ve had moments of doubt. I love food. It tastes good, it makes me feel good. Probably how most feel about food. Especially those of us that have struggled with our weight. So there are plenty of times that I just wish I could eat. But ‘skinny’ feels really good. Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels! I just need to keep reminding my self of that.

These last couple months, I’ve hit a wall. The scale wasn’t really moving much at all. Now it seems to be moving again and I’m back to losing. Which is awesome. I thought I’d take a moment to chart my progress.

My updates have definitely slowed down but then so has my weight loss. I set my goal between 175-180. And really, it’s not so much about the weight for me so much and more about how I feel. I also really want to fit into a size 10 or 12. Well this last week, I did it. I now can fit into a size 12!! That’s a huge thing for me. I don’t remember ever wearing a size 12.

I have also started training using the couch to 5k method. I’m only on week 2 but so far so good. The first couple days, I was not so sure about this. Jogging?? Me?? Really?? But by day 3 I was feeling better. Being able to jog without feeling like dying. 😉

I’m looking forward to being more active, feeling healthier and getting off the couch!
