If you have always wanted to visit Tennessee but aren’t really a fan of music then you may be wondering if there is any point in going. The answer is always yes, you should certainly go. There is so much more to Tennessee than music, head on over there and find out for yourself. If you need some more persuading before booking the ultimate trip then check out the article below.

Dollywood

Dollywood is considered one of the most famous and well-loved theme parks in America, after Disney of course. Situated in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, where Dolly Parton was raised you can have the time of your life. While not strictly related to music, it is more about the roller coasters and rides. So if you are a bit of an adrenaline junkie then be sure to put a visit here on your to do list. It became home to the country’s first winged rollercoaster in 2012 and visitors have loved it ever since.

Smoky Mountains

Speaking of the Great Smoky Mountains, there is more to them than just Dollywood. While you are there you may as well see the rest of them. They are home to one of the national parks that is the most visited national park in the whole of the states. Around 300 million years old, you can have a wonderful day here exploring the surroundings and scenery. There is also a ton of wildlife to see, however, keep your fingers crossed you don’t come across the black bears.

Nashville Zoo

Do you love wildlife? If so, head on over to Nashville Zoo which has been recognised both nationally and internationally for its conservation efforts. Nobody wants to see animals in cages, so here they roam free in their enclosures which are huge. There is a huge focus on natural habitats and the animals are happy here, it really is something to see and experience. If you are there around halloween then you can take part in ‘boo at the zoo’ which hosts trick or treat stations for you to grab some goodies.

If you are traveling by RV then you might want to stay at a nearby RV park. They have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable.

Ghost Tours

Lastly, Tennessee is rich in history and one thing that is rather popular is their ghost tours. If you are wanting to find some of the most haunted areas then join one or two of these tours. You can find yourself visiting places like Chattanooga and Knoxville along with the capital Nashville. Tennessee is known as a paranormal hotspot due to its rather dramatic history, many locals love telling ghost stories. There have been many civil wars held over the years leaving a trail of soldiers and other bodies that don’t want to cross the bridge.

We do hope you found this article helpful and it gave you some ideas and inspiration on what you can do while visiting Tennessee.
