Today is my first day with Medifast!
It’s about to get real up in here. You ready?
I am overweight. Ugh. I really hate that word…even worse – obese. There’s nothing fun or glamorous about being obese. The term itself is ugly. I am no way saying that being overweight is ugly but the terminology sure is.
I’ve always believed in loving the skin you’re in. I can think of a lot of overweight people who are gorgeous and confident. They love the skin they’re in. But what about when you don’t.. when you don’t love your weight or how you look?
I’ve been overweight most of my life. If I look back at pictures, I think the last ‘thin’ picture of me might be from 2nd or 3rd grade. I was always an active kid but a chubby active kid. I played basketball, volleyball and was a cheerleader all 4 years of high school. But was still overweight.
Now in my adult life, after 4 kids, I can’t seem to stop the weight gain. I’ve done the food journals, tried the different weight loss programs and even if I lose weight, I gain it back and then some. I’m at a point where not only do I not love the way I look but I’m finding that I can’t do the activities I want to do anymore.
Being a blogger, I do find myself with a few extra opportunities that I might not otherwise get. Today my husband Tim ( Review Dad ) and I are starting our first day with Medifast.
We ordered our Medifast food last week and are ready to go! Not that weight loss is ever ‘easy’ but I do think that having a partner on the journey with you can make it easier.
I still need to get my before picture in, I’ll post that soon. I’d love your encouragement as we blog about our journey. Follow along each week and I’ll keep you updated on #MinusMonday.

I’ve been overweight since I was in 2nd grade. Generally speaking, I have more days where I love me. That doesn’t mean I don’t see or hear the way others react to me. That can still sting. It makes for a bad moment in a good day. Anyway, I am excited for you! I will be looking forward to your future posts.
