Lincoln Logs – Creativity and Learning through Play

November 22, 2013 by Dawn Filed Under: Reviews 19 Comments

Disclosure: We received Lincoln Logs for review purposes only. All opinions are my own.

Do your kids love building things? Mine sure do! Lincoln Logs has been around forever. They were invented in 1916 by John Lloyd Wright, the son of one of America’s most famous architects, Frank Lloyd Wright.

For over nine decades, Lincoln Logs has maintained its rustic look and reputation for quality and durability. Every log is still made with real wood, which is precision cut and placed in a tumbler to achieve a smooth, splinter-free finish. Logs are treated with a top-grade stain to help preserve and extend the life of the wood.

Every box of Lincoln Logs contains the raw materials for a new journey. As one generation after another has been touched by its enduring appeal, Lincoln Logs has become more than just a toy it has become an authentic piece of Americana.

Lincoln Logs

We were sent the Lincoln Logs Redfield Ranch to review. My son was so excited when these came in the mail.

Lincoln Logs ® Redfield Ranch

Build a home on the range! Lincoln Logs ® Redfield Ranch™ includes 124 real wood logs, plus colorful figures and other building accessories. Step-by-step instructions for building a ranch complete with a horse and cowboy figure are included. Parts come in a newly designed and collectible storage container, so clean-up is quick and easy. Suggested retail price is $39.99. Ages 3+. Available exclusively at Toys “R” Us.

I told my son that these were his to review so at first he was reluctant to share with his sisters. But together they built this very cool ranch.

Lincoln Logs

I love that Lincoln Logs are such great quality. Made from real wood but no splinters! They can make great structures by following the instructions included or create fun new things themselves using their imagination. When they’re done playing for the day, the Lincoln Logs store great in the tub they came in. Love no pieces left on the floor!

Check out your Toys R Us for these awesome Lincoln Logs!

Does their ranch get snow? If not, I want to move there.

I loved Lincoln Logs as a kid. I bought my grandson a box full of them too, and when he visits it’s one of the first things he pulls out of the toy box. They are so much fun I still help him build!

I loved Lincoln Logs so much when I was little. My husband and my daughter lay in the floor and build houses and stuff with these.
