Ok.. how many of us have ever said something along the lines of… “I will never drive a minivan”?
I’ll admit it. I was one of them. And then we bought our first minivan. With four kids, it’s kind of a must. Especially when you have a set of twins and are lugging around the double stroller and double everything else. When the twins were born, I had four kids all five years old and under. WHEW! That’s a lot of car seats.
Anyway, I digress.
We had our minivan and it was a necessity. Then, as our kids got older, I decided I was ready to be the cool mom again. I figured, as long as I found something that seats at least 6, we were golden. So I traded in that ol’ minivan and downsized. Now, don’t get me wrong.. I still love my vehicle. But… just because a vehicle seats 6 or in our case 7, does not mean that you’re still getting the same space. And it also doesn’t automatically mean it’s right for your family.
Now let me give you another little nugget of mom advice.. Driving a minivan is the new cool!
We recently vacationed in Florida and were able to test drive the new KIA Sedona Minivan. We spent nine glorious days with this impressive vehicle. We did not want to part with it and in fact, my husband is looking into trading up to a KIA Sedona when our lease is up. We LOVED it!
The KIA Sedona is like the luxury of minivans.. the envy of all soccer moms! Let me break it down for you. Here are some of my favorite features in no particular order:
Push button start
Keyless entry (both of the above are life savers for busy moms with full hands!)
Double sun/moon roof (let in the sun!!)
Top of the line sound system with Sirius plus DVD player
Reclining middle seats (Yes, they actually have a foot rest that pops up when they recline!)
TONS of storage
Auto lights (You can set it so your bright lights go on and off automatically too! Genius!)
The exterior is sporty and beautiful!!
My list could honestly go on and on. This minivan was so comfortable!! We actually joked that we could probably comfortably sleep in it and not mind at all. 😉
So take it from a veteran mom of four… driving a minivan is the new cool! It’s not just for soccer moms or moms with lots of kids. Invest in a minivan. It will make your life so much easier!
