Yes! It’s totally that pinch me moment. I was at Skywalker Ranch and Lucasfilms HQ. Keep reading… I’m giving you a peek at Inside Skywalker Ranch plus my tour of Lucasfilm HQ!
Rogue One Press Event
I’m so happy that I can finally talk about our visit to Skywalker Ranch and Lucasfilm HQ a few days ago. We packed so much into 3 days time. We were part of a press group that was able to watch 28 minutes of ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY at Skywalker Ranch, in the Stag Theater. What a bucket list moment for me. I know that my kids would have loved being there, they are such die-hard Star Wars fans.
Rogue One Director Gareth Edwards spoke before the screening. YES! I not only watched part of Rogue One, I also watched it WITH the director. And oh.. let’s not forget that I was sitting mere feet from George Lucas’ favorite theater seat to watch screenings. AH! That was a bit crazy for me! The whole night was surreal.
Inside Skywalker Ranch
I wished that I could have seen inside Skywalker Ranch during the day but at night, it was simply magical. I loved being able to snap that picture above – the house all lit up for Christmas.
While there, I also met some new friends! 😉
There were so many pictures that I thought the best way to share was in a slideshow.
As amazing as inside Skywalker Ranch was, the fun doesn’t stop there! The next day, we got to hang out at Lucasfilm HQ. When you’re greeted by decked out Rogue One vehicles and none other than YODA, you know you’re in for a spectacular day!

I’ll be sharing my interviews with talent and filmmakers over the next few days. Until then, let me tell you what I saw at Lucasfilm HQ. We got a peek at Rogue One merchandise … which was amazing! Tons of gift options for Christmas this year.
We also got the behind the scenes tour of Industrial Light & Magic. They have done the visual effects and CGI for many films that you’ve watched over the years.
Here’s just a “few” more pictures!
We were able to go into the room where they do all the Motion Capture for the K-2S0 droid. It was neat to see how they try to get his movements smooth and normal looking, even though he’s supposed to be a 7-foot droid. The suit the actor has to wear looks like PJs with numbers and buttons on it. But, they have a system worked out and he was even able to make K-2S0 dance on the screen just by dancing while he was wearing the suit. Technology is amazing.
I shot a bit of video and will update the post as soon as I can get the video edited.
WHEW! So much packed into one post and that’s just a small piece of everything we did and saw. Make sure to come back every day for more coverage. Until then, I hope you enjoyed inside Skywalker Ranch and tour of Lucasfilm HQ!
