Want a Flat Tummy? Tips on How to Lose Belly Fat

April 14, 2021 by Contributed Post Filed Under: Health & Fitness Leave a Comment

That stubborn belly fat can be hard to get rid of. And frankly, that fat didn’t get there overnight. Some factors that might have contributed to the excess tummy fat might be the stressful days at work, eating too many cheat meals, or having a deskbound lifestyle. While it is practically impossible to tell a particular part of your body to speed the metabolism of fat, there are some ways to lose belly fat fast.

Avoid Sugar and Artificially Sweetened Drinks

According to WebMD, sugary drinks can increase belly fat. This type of fat is usually linked to heart diseases and type-2 diabetes. Added sugar can be harmful to the metabolic system. This means that excess artificial sugar could overwork your liver with fructose, where it will be converted into fat.

Liquid sugar tends to worsen the situation since your brain cannot identify them the same way it does with compact calories. Therefore, you should know that by reaching for that sugar-sweetened drink, you are consuming more calories. To lose belly fat, switch that sweetened beverage with whole fruit juice and create a shake that weight diet plan.

Eat More Fiber

Including more fiber in your diet is another secret to a flat tummy. Although many people are wary of adding carbs to their diet when trying to lose weight, adding the correct food rich in fiber can help eliminate belly fat. Eating fiber-rich foods like whole-grain bread, fruits and vegetables, chia seeds, and beans helps you feel fuller for longer.

Eat High Protein Diet

There is enough proof that protein is the key to having a flat tummy. Protein releases a hormone that helps relay a message to your brain that you are full. Therefore, include a good portion of protein in your meals to get fuller and avoid overeating. Apart from making you feel satiated, protein helps repair the tiny tissue tears caused by strength training.

Try to include protein-rich foods like fish, whole eggs, nuts, dairy products, and meat in your meals. But, if you cannot get the required amount of protein, be sure to try out protein supplements.

Avoid Stress

Stress is one of the main causes of excess belly fat. When you are faced with a dangerous or high-pressure situation, your body tends to release the stress hormone cortisol. This hormone can affect your metabolism. Additionally, most people usually reach out for food to comfort themselves whenever they feel stressed. In such a situation, your body releases cortisol, which causes the excess calories to accumulate around the abdomen and other body areas for future use.

Do Resistance Training

You already know that exercise is needed to lose weight, but do you know that resistance training is the best form of exercise? Also known as weight lifting, resistance training helps improve muscle mass and helps speed up metabolism. This then helps your body to burn fat even in your tummy.

Summing Up

When trying to lose belly fat, it is essential that you conquer weight loss challenges for the best results. To get a flat tummy, focus more on drinking sugar-free drinks, eat more proteins, do strength training, and, more importantly, stay hydrated.
