There has been a lot of buzz about the Affordable Care Act and health insurance in general. It’s a confusing time. If you have health insurance, you might just choose to skip all the info but what if you lose your insurance or have to find different coverage?
Let me tell you, I know just enough about ACA to be confused!
Here’s what I found out. The ACA claim is to help get us access to health insurance and affordable health insurance at that. The Act also guarantees coverage for pre-existing health conditions, and financial assistance for those who qualify. This may include savings on your health insurance premiums via a tax credit or access through a government program like Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), or Medicare.
No matter which side you are on, whether you approve of ACA or not, it’s here. We need to be informed and understand how it works, how we can save and what the Health Exchange Marketplace is.
I am one of those people that really does not understand the ins and outs of it all. Along with me and so many other Americans, we don’t understand how this all works and that we may be able to save money on our health insurance.
Last year, almost 87% of health insurance exchange applicants saved $250 a month or more on their health insurance!
