An Antioxidant Powerhouse

Matcha green tea is something that an increasing number of people are consuming. This is because of the incredible benefits that are associated with this powerful tea. One of the main advantages is the fact that Matcha tea is an antioxidant powerhouse. Read on to discover more about this.

Matcha provides unparalleled nutrition. Did you know that it contains 137 times more antioxidants than a regular cup of green tea? One of the main reasons why Matcha is so beneficial is because you are ingesting the entire leaf, and thus you receive 100 per cent of the nutrients. You will also find more antioxidants in Matcha than you will many fruits, vegetables, and superfoods. ConsumersAdvocate Reviews reveal more about Everlywell, which may recommend this tea to people with certain food conditions. Matcha green tea has an ORAC rating of 1573, compared to 12.6 for spinach, 31 for broccoli, 60 for acai berries, 93 for blueberries, 105 for pomegranate, and 253 for Goji berries. ORAC stands for oxygen radical absorbance capacity, and it is a tried and tested method in antioxidant research. So, why does this matter? Well, antioxidants are magical enzymes and nutrients that assist the body in a number of different ways, including the prevention of life-threatening maladies, younger looking skin, and prevention of the negative effects of UV radiation. Essentially, they are the body’s defense agents, and, therefore, they help to ensure that our body has the ability to fight against disease and infection.

Matcha vs. Regular Green Tea

Matcha Japanese green tea is not a new phenomenon; it has been around for thousands and thousands of years. However, people all over the world are now starting to realize the abundance of health benefits that are associated with this special type of tea. With that being said, in this section of the post we are going to take a look at the reasons why Matcha is better than regular green tea.

You only need to think about the process of drinking regular green tea compared with Matcha green tea to see the real difference. With Matcha, the tea leaves are ground into a fine powder. This means that you are consuming all of the goodness. However, with standard green tea, you simply pour boiling water over the teabag, and then you throw it away. This means you are throwing away all of the goodness, and only consuming a very, very small portion of it. Consequently, you would have to drink about 15 cups of regular green tea to experience the nutrition you get from one cup of Matcha. Thus, Matcha is not only effective, but it is cost efficient too. You may have to pay a little bit more for a tin of Matcha than you would for other types of green tea, but it certainly evens itself out when you consider how much regular green tea you need to consume per day to experience the benefits. Matcha also helps boost your metabolism, promote healthy skin, and enhance your overall wellbeing. It is rich in antioxidants too, with 137 times the antioxidants that are found in regular green tea.

My husband and I love matcha tea. It is great mixed with ginger and tumeric. I also make little energy bites with matcha. They make a great pre-workout treat.
