Once you discover the basic chaffle, the recipes are endless…. sandwiches, dessert, waffles, churros, cinnamon rolls, etc. Opens up so many options for the keto lifestyle.

For the pizza waffle, I started with the basic chaffle recipe but also added a pinch of Italian seasoning to the egg. You can still use whatever shredded cheese you’d like. I grab whatever is in my fridge, cheddar, colby jack, etc. I find that the cheddar or colby mix makes for a nice crispy chaffle.

Make two chaffles, then top with low sugar pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese, and mini pepperoni. Or your favorite pizza toppings.

You can then pop in the microwave to heat or better yet, put in the oven or toaster oven at 450 for 5-10 minutes. I’m all about using my toaster oven, especially over the hot summer months.

These are such a great keto version of pizza. Surprisingly good actually! When following the keto lifestyle, you can find plenty of alternatives so that you’re not feeling deprived. These chaffles are one of those great options.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that the chaffle tastes too eggy. But honestly, I haven’t had that experience at all. I really enjoyed the pizza chaffle and they get bonus points because they’re super easy to make! My son saw me making these and actually asked if he could have one. He finished it up and not a crumb left! Win win!

Do they reheat well? I’m thinking of using them for meal prep lunches.

If you are able to put them in the oven or toaster oven to reheat, they do a lot better. Otherwise, you’re missing the crispy texture.
