Disney Infinity – A Kid Favorite

October 6, 2013 by Dawn Filed Under: Disney, Entertainment 5 Comments

Disclosure: I received Disney Infinity for the Wii for review purposes only and was not compensated for this post. All opinions are my own.

I was able to see Disney Infinity in action this summer at a conference. I mentioned it to the kids at that time and, of course, they had already heard about it. They were super excited to have the chance to review it and couldn’t wait. We were able to review it for the Wii. It’s also available for other consoles.

Here’s some info about the hot new game from their website:

Disney Infinity (Wii)

In Disney Infinity you have the freedom and endless opportunity to create stories and play experiences starring some of your favorite Disney and Disney/Pixar characters.

Discover three Play Sets, including Monsters University, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Incredibles, with single player mode:

Play as Sulley in his early student days in the world of Monsters University
Plunge into adventure as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean and find pieces of the Kraken’s Bane
Activate the powers of Mr. Incredible on a quest to save the world from Syndrome and his super villains

Unlock six different Toy Boxes and play with up to 2-player local co-op:

Building Toy Box – Stack and play with a full set of building blocks and environment toys to build your very own world
Driving Toy Box – Use building blocks, vehicles, race tracks, and ramps to create a virtual driving playground
Combat Toy Box – Create your own combat level by using attack vehicles, enemies and building blocks
Dynamics Toy Box – Use your knowledge of physics to create a world filled with interactivity, including breakable environments, various ball types, and pinball items
Platforming Toy Box – Develop the ultimate platformer level by making your own obstacle course. Use mashers, elevators, traps and more
Sports Toy Box – Build a fun-filled world of sports by using stadium pieces, sport toys, goals, and fields

Mix, match and mash up unlocked toys from the Play Sets along with Disney and Disney/Pixar characters to create new adventures. Discover a variety of toys to play with in each Toy Box.

Disney hit a home run with this game. It is super fun and there’s always something new to do. You can work on the different levels, play 1 or 2 player, collect the different characters and even build your own levels. There’s endless possibilities.

I really love this for my oldest who wants to be a game developer when he grows up. This is a perfect opportunity to create his own levels. He can even use the the levels he creates as part of his resume/portfolio. How great is that?!!

If your kids have been asking about Disney Infinity, I’d definitely say go for it. Holidays are just around the corner.
