Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies – I love my baked goods. Yum yum and yum! I was visiting my blogger friend Living at the White Head’s Zoo and saw a cookie recipe that caught my attention. Amber says this recipe is her family’s favorite.

After making it, I am going to say that it is now our family’s favorite too! So good! My mom was over and tried these Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies and immediately wanted the recipe. I’m working on getting this posted asap so I can get her the recipe. 🙂

I had to bake these 2 days in a row because we’ve already eaten through the first batch.

You can use any kind of chips that you want in these. The first time, I used just chocolate chip. Today I used 1/2 chocolate chip and 1/2 butterscotch. The original recipe that came from Sally’s Baking Addiction used 1/2 chocolate chip, 1/2 white chocolate and sprinkles. I think these cookies would be yummy a variety of ways!

Try them out and let me know which way is your favorite or your new version!

Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 C Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 1/4 C Either Yellow Or White Cake Mix
  • 1 1/2 sticks of Butter
  • 1/2 C Sugar
  • 1/2 C Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1 C Chocolate Chips you can do 1/2 c. white and 1/2 cup chocolate

Instructions

  1. The recipe that I followed, you just mix it all together and that does work just fine. Other wise, start with mixing your liquids and butter first then add your dry ingredients.
  2. Refrigerate Dough at Least one hour
  3. Preheat Oven to 350
  4. Scoop dough onto greased cookie sheet and bake until brown or 11-13 minutes.

Mom Tip from Living at the Whitehead’s Zoo: These Freeze Well. Spoon them into an ice tray , let freeze and then pop out and put in labeled zip lock bags for the kids. They can pull them out and make them as wanted.

I would say this an excellent tip considering if you bake them right away, most likely you will eat them all right away! 😉

My tip for this recipe would be that if you wanted to make a double batch, you could use the whole box of cake mix in the recipe and then double the rest of the ingredients.

Let me know how you like this recipe for Cake Mix Chocolate Chip Cookies.

I never would have thought to use cake mix for cookies.
