The time has come! Get your bargain hat out and pick up some great back to school deals!
Here’s The Buying Basics
Books and Pencils
Every kid needs a new set or writing books and pencils to use in them – even if the school your child attends has plenty of pens and pencils to offer of their own, it’s always nice to send your child in prepared. And when you’ve got a pencil case of your own, fully fitted with pens and rulers and erasers, you’re a lot more dedicated to the school work at hand!
So grab at least 3 new books for them to make use of, and a standard stationery set – these usually contain at least two pencils and pens, as well as some maths equipment they may need, as well as a rule and eraser (and they’re usually cheaper too!).
A New Bag
Your child is going to need something to carry all their school supplies and lunch items in, a new bag is always a treat for a kid when you let them pick out their own! It doesn’t need to be a plain backpack they can just sling over a shoulder – take them down the aisle and let them find one with their favorite cartoon character on!
A Proper Pair of Shoes
Kids are always going to need a new pair of shoes to walk back into school with, seeing as sneakers or flip-flops aren’t usually considered school appropriate, and definitely not if they’re still covered in sand and mud from the vacation you’ve just come back from. A good pair of kids shoes are strong and sturdy, and won’t wear out from overuse on the outside playground. So, most of all, make sure you shop around properly before settling on a purchase!
A Roomy Lunchbox
And finally, the last basic you’ll need to shop for in your back to school store excursion is a new lunchbox. And not just any old lunchbox, but one that has a bit more room to it than the standard square size that most of the shops and supermarkets carry. You want to be able to fit all kinds of healthy foods and less than healthy snacks in there, to make sure lunchtime always goes down a treat in your child’s school cafeteria.
If your child is going to be back to school in the very near future, or they’ve gone back but might be in need of a few extra things to get them through the rest of the year, make sure you’ve got these basics on your back to school shopping list.
