Happy AVENGERS Day everyone!! Yes, I know it’s May Day but for me, it’s Avengers Day! Avengers 2 (Avengers: Age of Ultron) is out in theaters TODAY!
Hopefully you’ve been keeping up with my recent press trip to LA for the #AvengersEvent. If not, you can catch up with all of the interviews and coverage under my Disney tab.
As part of our press trip, we previewed the movie. It was amazing but let me tell you, it’s even better the second time around. I took my family to an early showing last night. We all loved it!!
I have been waiting on pins and needles to be able to watch it with my family. For one, I wanted them to see how amazing the movie was and two, I had to hold in a lot of spoilers. That’s not easy to do.
My husband is even more of a MARVEL fan than I am. I kept looking over at him throughout the movie wondering his thoughts. That and he kept poking me at different parts, asking questions. Like.. “Does he DIE?!” and “Is Black Panther in the movie?” He also heard the guy in the row in front of us telling others that Spider-Man was in the movie. So he poked me again to ask. Uh, nope. No spidey appearances. Sorry guy in front of us.. you’re wrong.
I was going to reveal a few spoilers in my review but I decided that I actually wanted you to read my review and until you see Avengers 2, I didn’t want to spoil anything!! So instead, I’m going to go over why Avengers 2 Beats the Sequel Curse!
Avengers 2 Beats the Sequel Curse
On the way to the theater, Tim told me that he was going to set his expectations low for the Avengers “sequel.” For a die hard MARVEL fan, there have been some sequels that just didn’t quite measure up to the first movie. So I can see why he’d be skeptical.
After the movie, that’s the first thing I asked him.. what did you think and did it measure up to the first Avengers. YES!! He approved!! 😉
Avengers 2 had plenty of action, the story development was terrific and the new additions to the Avengers team, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, were fantastic.
There are several fight scenes that are amazing! The church scene towards the end is one of my favorites.
Both Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen were fantastic in their roles. I can’t wait for you to see it and let me know what you thought of these new Avengers.
Plus, can we talk about Ultron for a moment? James Spader was simply amazing as Ultron. I can’t imagine anyone else voicing him. James does an absolute fantastic job voicing Ultron. Ultron even has some of James’s mannerisms. It’s just awesome to watch!
And then there’s Vision. I loved how Vision turned out and Paul Bettany was incredible! Check back, I’ll be posting our interview with James Spader and Paul Bettany soon.
As for character development, we get to see more of Hawkeye. Not going to spoil it but when you watch the movie, you’ll see what I mean. I love getting to know Hawkeye more and get a peek into who he is behind the arrows.
We also get to see a bit more of the growing relationship between Bruce and Natasha. Tim and I disagree a bit about their story line. I love to see a little romance in a movie. He doesn’t mind a little romance if done right. You can let me know what you think.
I am very excited for you all to see Avengers 2. Do you have plans this weekend to see it?? Make sure to report back and let me know what you thought.
