Heaven is For Real

Todd and Sonja Burpo are a real-life couple whose son Colton claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience. Colton recounts the details of his amazing journey with childlike innocence and speaks matter-of-factly about things that happened before his birth: things he couldn’t possibly know. Todd and his family are then challenged to examine the meaning from this remarkable event.

Oh to have the faith of a child. For a lot of us, hearing what this little boy, Colton, went through is a bit unbelievable. Is it because we lack the Faith or are too frightened to believe in Heaven?

I have always believed in Heaven so for me, I was excited to watch the movie and get an idea of what Heaven might actually be like. This story is based on a true story. It pulled at my heart strings to watch not only what these parents went through while their son was sick but to see their critics afterward.

Their congregation immediately stood by them and prayed for healing for Colton, but then when he was better, they wanted to run. Hearing Colton’s descriptions of Heaven and having Paster Burpo speak in church about it, frightened them.

Heaven Is For Real makes one really look at their faith. It was a great movie and I encourage you to see it whether you are a believer or not.
