Yep, that’s me! I was fortunate enough to go to California thanks to Disney and had the chance to watch Disney’s PLANES while I was out there. We spent the day at DisneyToon Studios behind the scenes. You’ve seen my posts documenting my journey and I still have a few more posts to write.
My kids are fans of Pixar CARS, and when I told them I was going to see Disney’s PLANES they were thrilled. They may have been a little upset they couldn’t come with me, but they knew I’d tell them all about it and take them to the movies after it was released to theaters.
From above the world of “Cars” comes “Disney’s Planes,” an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure featuring Dusty (voice of Dane Cook), a plane with dreams of competing as a high-flying air racer. But Dusty’s not exactly built for racing—and he happens to be afraid of heights. So he turns to a seasoned naval aviator who helps Dusty qualify to take on the defending champ of the race circuit. Dusty’s courage is put to the ultimate test as he aims to reach heights he never dreamed possible, giving a spellbound world the inspiration to soar.
What do you get when you throw a bunch of stand up comedians in a movie and let them pretend to be planes? A great film! There are so many funny lines in this movie, especially when it comes to El Chupacabra and his famous line, “I swish my cape at you.” If it isn’t famous yet, wait until you see him say it. It’s great.
Disney’s PLANES is about Dusty Crophopper following his dream of being a famous racer. With the help of his friends and some pretty awesome flying, he makes his way to the Wings Around the Globe Rally. We meet other planes, like El Chu, Bulldog, Ishani, Rochelle, and Ripslinger. We watch as Dusty tries to find himself in the world of competitive racing and struggle to make it to the lead.
It’s hard not to root for Dusty, he’s the underdog, and it just make you want him to win even more. We see his struggles with some of the other planes, as well as with himself. This is the ultimate underdog story and it is such a great story to watch.
This is such a great great movie! I’m so excited to get to take my kids to it. I know they’re going to love it! It really is one of my favorite Disney Movies. I could watch it by myself even without the kids! We did not get to see the premiere in 3D but I have a feeling that this is one that I will want to see in 3D.
Let me know what you think after seeing it!! Releases today…take the kids!
