Saving Money While Wedding Planning: How It Is Possible
Despite what many people might think it is still possible to save money while you are wedding planning, although it might seem like an impossible task! It just takes a lot of organization and also being mindful about your spending. If you really want to make sure that you are still saving money when wedding planning then it’s a good idea to get as organized as you possibly can, not only with your wedding planning, but with any other outgoings that you have too. The best way to do this is to create a spreadsheet, one sheet for wedding things and another for other things such as your bills and any other outgoings that you have coming up over the next few months leading up to your wedding.
Get creative with your wedding planning
This is something really simple that will be able to save you some money and also would be fun to do with your partner or with friends and family who want to be more involved in your wedding planning. Why not put together a list of some things that you could look at making yourself, such as your invitations, table decorations and even wedding favors for your guests. You can get inspiration for ideas and styles from sites such as Pinterest, you can find lots of things that couples have done previously. If you have a particular theme you can search using this, or if this isn’t something that you’ve thought about , it’s worth thinking of what style of wedding you would like, so that you can then think about what items to create.
Wedding invitations and other stationery don’t need to be really fancy and you don’t need to spend lots of money on getting ones made especially for you. You could again look for some inspiration online and visit places such as hobbycraft and buy your own cards and decorative items to make your own. This is something that will be really fun for you and your bridesmaids to get involved with as well, and will also help you to keep costs low and save some money.
Be creative with your meals
Eating out is something that we all love to do, but if you are trying to save money whilst you are wedding planning it might be a good idea to cut back on eating out and takeaways, and instead try some home cooked meals. This doesn’t have to be boring, you could make it something fun for you and your partner to cook some meals together and get creative in the kitchen. Cooking large meals and then keeping some for lunchtimes as well is another great way to save money when you are wedding planning.
There are loads of places that you can look for recipes online if you’re stuck on what meals to cook, and with these being more accessible now with apps such as Instagram then the ideas are limitless. Be adventurous and maybe consider looking at cuisines that you both haven’t tried before.
Cut back on going out
Everyone has been cutting back on going out since the pandemic started and a lot of people have found a new comfort in staying at home more, but this is something that you can look at doing to help save some money whilst wedding planning. Going out for day trips or places doesn’t always seem like a lot of money, but if you do this regularly it will soon add up, and that money could be put towards wedding items instead.
If you really do want to go out, then perhaps look at doing more romantic, free things such as visiting a beach together, having a picnic outside or going for a walk around the forest. These are things that are lovely to do, and don’t cost anything, just the petrol to get there. It’s also a really great way to make sure that you and your partner stay connected throughout the wedding planning process. You might want to also look at doing date nights in or again to places that are free. If you have friends who own rental houses, you could always ask them for a deal or perhaps see if they would let you use it for a weekend if it’s not being used.
