I tried a new chaffle recipe today. This one uses pork rinds and thus where it gets its name – paffle chaffle. It offers a different texture with a little extra crunch.
Long live the chaffle!! Tell me you’ve tried chaffles? I think they are a must for anyone living the keto or low carb lifestyle. They open up so many more food choices and options.
Paffle Chaffle
I’m not a huge fan of pork rinds but I love that they are a great keto option vs chips. They can also be used in recipes like the paffle chaffle.
Paffle Chaffle
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup shredded cheese I used mozzarella but use whatever cheese I have on hand.
- 1/4 cup crushed pork rinds
- 1 egg
Instructions
-
Mix all ingredients together. Pour 1/4 cup of the batter into your mini waffle maker and cook for 3-4 minutes.
This recipe is very similar to the basic chaffle but with the addition of the crushed pork rinds. I was worried that it would change the flavor but it really didn’t. It was tasty.
The batter is thicker than the basic chaffle but it poured and spread nicely on the mini waffle maker. I was expecting the outside to be super crispy but it wasn’t. It was still soft but held together really well.
Today, I made these two and then used them in my Keto Copy Cat McGriddle. The paffle chaffle texture was actually perfect for the Copy Cat McGriddle.
Now will I make the paffle often? Maybe not. The Basic Chaffle is just super easy. No needing to crush the pork rinds. But when you want something a bit different or wanting a different texture, the paffle is perfect.
Make sure you check out all of my Keto recipes. Let me know which chaffles you’ve tried and which version is your favorite. Do you prefer the basic chaffle or the paffle chaffle?

I Google paffle agnes your site showed first. When people say mini wake makes are they, or you taking about thickness or size of each one? I have a mini in size but or seems like a Belgium in thickness.
I’m considering purchasing a newer one on Amazon but would prefer a thinner type as the Belgium it’s harder on my jaws.
I will have to add your blog to my list.

The mini waffle maker is just smaller in diameter but still thicker. Not necessarily belgium in thickness though.

I tried the McGriddle Paffle Chaffle, this was my first chaffle, and I am so glad I found your recipe, it is super awesome. But, since I am new to the keto world, I was wondering if you could give me the nutrition value, or am I going to have to go through the daunting task of figuring it out myself? Just wondering why you don’t include that with your recipes…that would be awesome if you decided to do that!

I’m glad you love it! I actually do not count macros/nutritional content with my diet. I’m allergic to grains and that’s why I’ve gone the keto route. That’s honestly why I don’t include them. I also find that each time I make it, I might add something different or different amounts. So each person that makes this might come away with different macros than what’s in the original.

Awesome, Dawn! I don’t know why people are so hung up on macros. All I care about are the number of carbs and sugars. I have a good head on me as far as figuring out what I need to get good nutrition. Been studying nutrition for a very long time. Carbs and sweeteners are what I avoid on the keto allowed foods list. I stay away from ALL forms of sugar other than what’s in the keto allowed vegetables.

Yes! That’s awesome!
