Back in my day… (aye aye when did I get old and start saying back in my day? 😉 ) Anyway, back in my day when I was in high school, we had one option for foreign language. Spanish. That was it. I am from a smaller town so that’s probably part of the reason that we only had that one option. Now a days, however, there are so many additional options to learn a foreign language. Not only do our kids have more choices but with today’s technology, they have better options to learn.
How many hours a day our kids are on their smart phones, tablets, computers, etc.? What a great tool when you can utilize those hours for learning!
Our oldest daughter is enamored with the French culture. I know from experience that when my kids are interested in something, they tend to learn and retain so much better. We were given the opportunity to try out Babbel so I figured now was the perfect time to introduce her to French as a foreign language.
Just like any teenage girl, she is very familiar with her smart phone and apps. So what a perfect way to learn the French language with Babbel. Babbel is available on the computer as well as IOS and Android apps.
Learning French with Babbel
Babbel is very easy to install and set up.
Once you get your account registered and the app downloaded (or use right from your computer), you’ll be learning the foreign language of your choice in no time.
I love how the program is interactive. Meaning, the word is said by the app and then using your phone’s speakers, you say the word back. The program checks for proper pronunciation before letting you move on.
Learning French with Babbel has been so easy for my daughter to use. She loves it!
Babbel offers several different foreign languages. You don’t have to choose French. Here are all of the languages available at Babbel.com: Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish.
