I am not one for exercise. Never have been and maybe never will be. However, when I was younger, I was at least somewhat active. I played basketball, volleyball and was a cheerleader all 4 years of High School. Since then my activity has just gone down year after year.
Now, when you’re trying to lose weight or even maintain it, exercise can play a big role. With Medifast exercise is not required. However, it certainly can boost weight lost.
Boost Weight Loss – How do you get moving?
Anything you can do to get moving will definitely help boost weight loss. So what do you do?
I have a hard time finding time to do anything structured. I’ve just got a lot going on. And unfortunately my job is sedentary. I sit at the computer and work. My fingers are probably the only thing getting any exercise.
I also homeschool. So why not try to kill two birds with one stone? When my kids are active, maybe I should join them!
My husband and I did karate before the kids were born but not since. We loved it. I enrolled my kids in a Karate class this last week. Walking into the Dojo reminded me just how much fun we used to love taking Karate. When the kids stepped onto the mat, so did I. Why not!
Now while this was just a beginner’s karate class, it was perfect for me. I used a lot of muscles that have been sleeping for a long time… and I sweat. Whew! I also had a lot of fun. This is something that the kids and I can enjoy doing together and I boost weight loss by getting up and getting moving.
I felt great after that one hour. I gave my muscles a work out and got rid of some stress and tension. Awesome!

That sounds like a lot of fun. I never thought of perhaps doing an active class together with my kids! We have a lot of stairs in my house so I try to consciously go up and down them at least 10 times everyday. Every little bit helps!

That’s a great idea. I hate stairs and try to avoid them but I should make myself take an extra trip or two up and down.

That looks like a lot of fun. And I totally hear you on being sedentary. I am hoping now that the humid weather is pretty much behind us, I can get out and walk or play with the kids.
Dawn says
Yes, here too. Have to take advantage of the nice weather before the snow flies. Eeeeks!

How fun that you and your hubby did karate together. that is an awesome idea for me and my hubby for when our kids get a bit older. I try to stay as active as I can with my boys . since they are all pretty active its usually pretty easy to join in on some of their play and get a good workout.
Dawn says
So true re: the kids! I just have to remember to join them vs. watch.
Yes, my husband and I loved taking karate together. It was great!

I am so bad about moving! It is horrible – but there never seems to be any time.

I hear you!
